Two Poker ALL Toads Updates
I have been spending a large amount of the past few days updating and making features for Poke BALL Toads, including card suits, better radar, a skilltree, much better chunk rendering, and 10 status effects required for the skilltree. This was all added over two updates:
The next directions would be something like:
- new worlds over a 1 week-cycle
- multiplayer lobbies (a brief teaser is already in the houses)
- secrets
- potentially player-made maps for the open world, maybe even a more interesting open world in general
All of which is rather unsure at the moment with its side-project quality and its need to be a more viral and shared game to justify, not that it wouldn't be good.
Now this has been cursed, because at this point this project has more lines of code than Poker ALL Toads, and completely competing demands about the game's metaprogression. I've intentionally chosen this skilltree is per-run to emphasize the per-run skill aspect and doesn't permanently upgrade you. It would completely ruin the fairness of any multiplayer and cleanness of leaderboards. I must also point out that it's much more skillful, skill-testing, and interesting to choose a different build per run depending on circumstances.
Yet much slower metaprogression was part of the original Poker ALL Toads.
So a lot of these directions for the game are against each other.
Maybe I need to post a few polls for all this.
But anyway please enjoy my work, again please play Poke BALL Toads, I need a rest.
